Constantinos and Helen (May 21)

Constantinos  born in 272, reigned from 306 until his death. With his decree on secularism in 313, he stopped the persecution of Christians, thus helping the unobstructed practice of worship and the spread of the new religion. In 325 he convened the First Ecumenical Council in Nicaea in Asia Minor, which he personally presided over. This council is a cornerstone in the course of Christianity, since it condemned the heresy of Arianism and formed the doctrine of the "Symbol of Faith". Shortly before his death, he was baptized a Christian. Saint Helen was the mother of Constantine the Great. After finding the Holy Cross, he financed the construction of Christian Churches. She is considered the patroness of husbands. Their memory is commemorated on May 21.
