Andreas (November 30)

He was the brother of the Apostle Peter. Because he was called by the Lord first in the group of disciples, he was called first. After the founding of the first church, the Apostle after preaching in various places (Bithynia, Black Sea, Thrace, Epirus) ended up in Achaia. There his teaching bore fruit and with his prayers he miraculously healed many patients. Among those who healed and believed was the wife of the viceroy of Patras. This fact infuriated the viceroy and at the urging of pagan priests he arrested Andreas and crucified him upside down. He is the patron saint of Patras. His memory is commemorated on November 30
