Saint Joachim the Papoulakis

  He was born in Ithaca. He had a very difficult childhood. There is another hole in the ground where his mother punished him for any child misconduct. He lived for years as a monk in the Holy Monastery of Vatopedi. He returned to his homeland and played an important spiritual role because with his holy life, his example and the miracles he performed, he helped his compatriots a lot. He slept peacefully in 1868.
